1,616 applications (2024: 1,417) were submitted for the Doctoral Networks 2025 call. These are distributed as follows: Standard Doctoral Networks 1,423 applications, Industrial Doctorates 82 and Joint Doctorates 111 applications. Applications were submitted from 36 different countries in total. 156 applications came from German organisations. The European Commission will probably fund over 150 projects as part of this call. The evaluation results are expected for the end of April 2026.
