With the adoption of the National Action Plan for the European Research Area on November 15, 2023, the Federal Government is laying down the guidelines for its EU research and innovation policy for the period 2024 - 2027. Together with its European partners, the Federal Government aims to make Europe fit for the future. Within guiding principle 2 "Excellent research in Europe" (in particular field of action 4), obstacles to European cooperation are to be removed. The focus here is on facilitating the mobility of researchers in the European Research Area, strengthening mobility and networking across borders and creating good employment conditions as an advantage in attracting researcher. The National Action Plan is based on a comprehensive consultation with researchers and other stakeholders from research and innovation from November 2022 to February 2023.
