MSCA Seal of Excellence awarded to outstanding researchers - Hessen Horizon Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship

The European Commission has awarded the Seal of Excellence certificates under the 2023 MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships call under Horizon Europe to 1,737 outstanding proposals.

The European Commission has awarded the Seal of Excellence certificates under the 2023 MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships call under Horizon Europe to 1,737 outstanding proposals. The proposals that received the certificate had host organisations in 32 countries. 192 of the researchers applied with a German institution. The Seal of Excellence is awarded to applicants who scored 85 percent or more in the evaluation but were unable to receive funding for budgetary reasons. Researchers can use this award to obtain alternative funding for their project.

Researchers who have applied with a Hessian institution and have received a Seal of Excellence can apply for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Scholarship Hessen from the Hessian Ministry of Science and Research, Arts and Culture (HMWK). The HMWK grants two scholarships annually upon application, provided that the European Commission was unable to fund the application of a Hessian institution for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship for budgetary reasons, but has awarded it a Seal of Excellence, thus enabling outstanding international scientists to spend two years researching in Hesse.

The call for applications for the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Scholarship Hessen 2024 starts at the end of April. All application criteria can be found in the funding guidelines.
