Prizes launched for projects that promote Citizen Science

As part of the EU-funded IMPETUS project, two competitions have been launched for projects that involve citizens in the scientific process. Both initiatives offer MSCA projects and researchers the opportunity to further disseminate Citizen Science.

As part of the EU-funded IMPETUS project, two competitions have been launched for projects that involve citizens in the scientific process (Citizen Science). Both initiatives offer ongoing and completed MSCA projects and MSCA researchers the opportunity to further disseminate Citizen Science.

The European Union Prize for Citizen Science recognizes outstanding achievements in the advancement of knowledge through the participation of civil society in the development of the future. The prize is open to initiatives working across a wide range of scientific and social activities that involve citizens and aim to achieve scientific progress and social benefit, to support communities, and to promote an open and inclusive civil society. The main award of the contest is endowed with 60.000 euros.

The deadline for applications is 11 March 2024 (11.59 p.m. CET).

The IMPETUS Accelerator provides financial support, mentoring and training to further develop and scale up Citizen Science projects or promising ideas in the areas of 1) Sustainable Lifestyles, 2) Equity and Equality and 3) Citizen Science with and for the community.

The deadline for applications is 14 March 2024 (12 noon CET).
